Dear John Beck,
But you can do this from the cmd of your Windows server with the EcoStruxure IT Gateway software installed (if it's allowed by the rules on your network firewall).
For gateway software, the ICMP protocol to devices is not needed, as a rule. That is, if the ICMP protocol is disabled on your network firewall, the gateway software will still work fine.
With respect.

Yes, I know I can ping each IP Address of each UPS from the cmd. How often does the EcoStruxure IT Gateway ping the devices?

Dear John Beck,
The gateway software does not use the ICMP protocol (that is, does not ping the devices) to determine the availability of SNMP devices.
To do this, use a periodic (every five minutes) polling SNMP devices using SNMP protocol (snmpget or snpwalk). If the SNMP device does not respond when SNMP is polled (it does not respond via SNMP protocol), this device is marked as Communication failure.
If an SNMP device (the native Schneider Electric device) has an alarm, this device immediately sends an SNMP trap to the EcoStruxure IT Gateway server with an alarm message (that's why you need SNMP Write community string access, which I wrote about in your previous topic). Once the EcoStruxure IT Gateway server receives the above alert SNMP trap, it executes an immediate (i.e., priority) scan of the SNMP device with an alert. This is done in order to transfer this alert as quickly as possible to the SE cloud, which means that you are in a mobile app.
With respect.
