"High Event Count" Message in "Display Alarms"

Hello,

I viewed the 'Display Alarms' list in Geo SCADA Expert 2021. In the list I saw 'High event count' message more than one as in the screenshot. What could be the cause of this problem and how could i solve this?

We were not getting this alarm, but on one system we realized that we were logging to many events making displaying and querying the events extremely slow. This system I am referring to is over 50000 points, and in a virtual environment with lots or RAM, CPUs, and fast access hard drive space.

In our case we were logging every digital change of state. For digitals that are alarms those are the only things that needed to be in the event log. We set all digitals to be logged to the historian which had the added benefit of being kept longer if we need to go back and look at things.

The historian is a bit more efficient with system resources and creates smaller files.
