Hello,
Can Original WebX server be used simultaneously with Virtual ViewX web server?
Thank you!

Yes.
You just need to make sure that you don't try to force both to be on the same ports.
I forget what the default port for the Virtual ViewX service is, but if you leave things as default then it will work ok.
If you try to change Virtual ViewX to be on port 80 / 443 on the same server as Geo SCADA Expert runs (and hence has classic WebX on) then there will be a port conflict, and you will need to change one or the other.

Also note that original WebX is needed for full scripting functionality (i.e. Server object calls) so assuming you use scripting, make sure original WebX still works and is accessible through any firewall if you change its port.

However...
If using Virtual ViewX exclusively, then those firewall rules are only required between your Geo SCADA Expert servers and the Virtual ViewX server itself, not the Virtual ViewX clients.
If using full ViewX clients then the firewall rules are required between the Geo SCADA Expert servers and all of your ViewX clients.
Ditto if you're using any original WebX clients, firewall rules are needed between Geo SCADA Expert servers and any potential WebX client machines.

It also depends on if WebX clients are licensed. You only get both Virtual ViewX and WebX if you are upgrading to Virtual ViewX from WebX. This allows for a smooth upgrade, but the next time you get your license updated the WebX client licensing will be removed.
The part of WebX for scripting in ViewX still works.

I thought WebX and Virtual ViewX were licenced entirely separately? (WebX via the Geo SCADA Expert licence system, and Virtual ViewX via the Thinfinity licence)
I can understand that Schneider likely provide a migration licence option to (possibly pay a little extra and) migrate a WebX licence to a Virtual ViewX licence.. but I believe it would still be possible to maintain both for the time being.
Virtual ViewX does require a few more hoops to jump through than does WebX, and the additional server load from Virtual ViewX is definitely not inconsequential, and will typically warrant a server upgrade project (or just provisioning separate dedicated Virtual ViewX servers, which in itself is quite a major task on the infrastructure front)

It is totally different licensing so technically you can license both, but it has been marketed to us anyway as Virtual ViewX replaces WebX and going forward WebX is not being sold.
