ViewX fails to start after uninstalling Crystal Reports Runtime

Hi all,

I'm experiencing an issue where ViewX fails to start after I uninstalled the Crystal Reports runtime. ViewX itself does not use Crystal Reports and should not require it. However, according to the ViewX log, the startup process is aborted because it cannot find a Crystal Reports file.

It’s likely that the 64-bit Crystal Reports option was selected during the initial installation of Geo SCADA.

At other sites, we made sure not to select the Crystal Reports option during installation, and ViewX runs without any dependency on it there.

The issue concerns Geo SCADA 2020, version 83.7578.1 (Update Sept 2020).

Is there any way to remove or disable the link to Crystal Reports without having to perform a full reinstallation of Geo SCADA?

You need to uninstall the Geo SCADA Crystal Reports ViewX plug-in from "Programs and Features" in the Windows Control Panel before uninstalling the SAP Crystal Reports 32-bit runtime.

The SAP Crystal Reports 64-bit runtime is only required by Geo SCADA servers that generate/print/export reports, not ViewX clients.
