VVX - Embedded List Copy to Clipboard

We've recently run into a few installs where users who previously had WebX utilized the copy to clipboard function that existed on the bottom right corner of the embedded list.  Upon going to VVX they've lost this ability since the native list in ViewX for some reason does not have this capability. 

We've scripted a copy to clipboard function in the past that uses the cmd clip function, but that doesn't seem to function in VVX.  I've since resorted to one of two workarounds --

1) Have a button open the query in a native ViewX list that they can then ctrl+c on.

2) Change the functionality altogether to export the data to a CSV which is then downloaded to the client.

Both of these work, but users have commented that this loss of functionality caused a bit of grief. 

There's another thread in these forums that myself or maybe Dustin Symes had made about a modernized embedded list object.  I think this would be the most ideal time to consider something like that, where copy to clipboard is native to it along with some other features like inline grouping and filtering.

Bumping up the request. It would be nice to have a native 'Copy/Export to clipboard' functionality from the embedded lists or Alarm List objects. Currently we have custom VBScript functions that do that but it's particularly tricky with the timestamp columns. Plus you have to account for hidden columns (ones that start with underscores).

Agreed on this one tfranklin. We have a lot of customers who used this feature extensively in the past and were quite disappointed to find out it was only available inside the web client when we had suggested they move to the thick client instead for certain situations. Now that we have Virtual ViewX having a copy function on the object is very needed for embedded lists.

Following our installation of VVX one of the first complaints from end-users was this feature previously available through WebX was no longer available via VVX.

Presumably if this functionality could be made available with VVX it would also function with client ViewX?

Yes, and it is confirmed that copy to clipboard and file export/download from lists and trends embedded in mimics will be available in the next Geo SCADA release (2023).
