Hello, i would like to find unused datapoints in our Geoscada environment.
i want to find all datapoints that are not referenced bij an other object, they can have a reference to another object, most cases is this an outstation.
can someone help me with a query to achieve this?
other tips to achieve this are also welcome.
Greetings,
Johnny Bos

Years ago I had asked the same question and there was no way. I asked for this feature to be added but as far as I know it has not. it is probably a bit complex and could probably lock the system for way to long.
As far as I know the only way to check references is by right clicking on a point and selecting the the referenced by option.

Perhaps check for errors, as points with missing outstation links will show up. In SQL, check the field ConfigValid.
You can use Python or C# with the APIs to chase references.
Examples:

2025 Native Python: https://github.com/GeoSCADA/Python-Geo-SCADA-Client-Samples/blob/main/ListAllReferencesToGroup.py

I think it'd be neat if objects simply had an integer value that represented the number of objects that referred to it.

Hello, thank you for these responses. This confirms to me that it’s difficult or impossible to display this in a simple way. I’ll take a look at the Python scripts to see if I can do something with them; otherwise it will have to be checked manually. Tfranklin’s suggestion would have helped me if that option were available — maybe a feature request.

Yeah a simple reference counter would be useful.
Just like when currently checking a single objects references we'd have to keep in mind that a script could reference something and that would not be included in the reference list.
