Hello Support,
I am trying to connect a controller to Geo SCADA but my channel is not connecting. Below is my settings:
Modbus advance generic direct outstation:
Outstation TAB: in service- checked
Modbus TAB: address: 244 match the controller address
Network TAB: Single network
host address: IP address same as controller ( 172.16.1.10)
port: same as controller (10001)
Outstation state is showing: Healthy, Multidrop
Modbus advance direct channel:
Channel TAB: in service-checked
Connection TAB:
connection type: Network
TCP/IP: TCP
merge connection- Unchecked
independent connections - checked
Modbus TAB: protocal type: I have used both RTU and TCP.
Scan parameters TAB: Line speed 19200 same as controller
Channel State is showing: Disconnected
I have tried different settings options still can't get the channel to connect. I have the latest Geo SCADA version installed. March 2023 update.
any suggestions on why my channel does not want to connect?
Thanks,

Interesting I do not think I have ever had a Outstation Good and the Channel bad except when using PTSN for periodic dial-up connections.
I assume your Outstation Set is also enabled.
Do you have another Modbus device (different brand) that you can set this channel and outstation to just to make sure it is not something going wrong from the Modbus device.
What is your Slave device? Someone else may have used it and have recommendation based on that.
Is this a direct IP connection or are you using a TCP/IP to Serial converter?
Enabling Comms Logging on the Channel could help show whats going on. When you enable it select the persistence option and then it will stay enable until you turn it off. this will let you disable the Channel and then enable it and catch what happens when you enable the channel.
you have not analyzed logs before there is a tool called CS File analyzer that can make analyzing them a bit easier. https://community.se.com/t5/Geo-SCADA-Knowledge-Base/CS-File-Analyser/ba-p/278766
This maybe something you need to contact Support through your regions technical support channel since this is just a user forum.

I assume your Outstation Set is also enabled. Yes, set is enabled.
Do you have another Modbus device (different brand) that you can set this channel and outstation to just to make sure it is not something going wrong from the Modbus device. Yes, I tried using a SE SCADAPack 470 same results.
What is your Slave device? Someone else may have used it and have recommendation based on that. Slave device is called a Precision Digital PD9000 multivariable controller.
Is this a direct IP connection or are you using a TCP/IP to Serial converter? Yes, Direct IP connection.
I am using Windows 10 64 bit system.

Did you try making completely new outstation, Set, and channel or if you happen to have a working existing set of those making copies them?
At the moment I can't think of anything else to try.

A network TCP channel should go from disconnected to healthy upon receipt of the first message from an outstation, which implies that no messages have been received from the outstation(s). A comms log for the channel will easily confirm if this is the case.
A direct Modbus outstation will go healthy upon successful completion of the first poll, however if there are no points to poll it will go healthy straightaway. I would guess that is what is happening in this case.
If this isn't the case then I would suggest raising an issue with customer support and sending them the driver logs and comms log for the channel so they can investigate further.

Hello Support Team,
After having support remote in to server. We used a scadapack 470 to establish a connection. I had to Restore to default settings on the scadapack 470. Then we used the same parameters of the scadapack in Geo SCADA with my controller and it channel connected. Maybe having a device that is working and pulling data was the key.
Thanks again for the support.
