I have a configuration that I exported from customer 1's 2021 version which could only export back to a 2017 R2 version, which I thought my customer 2 was running. Turns out customer 2 is still running 2017
so I restored the export to a 2017 R2 version that I have and then made a 2017 export.
When I import this into the 2017 version I only get the folder, mimics and a couple internal points. Everything for Advanced Modbus is missing.
Was there some major change from 2017 to 2017 R2 that this would not work?
I'll of course tell them that they really need to upgrade anyway, but it irks me that it did not work.

You do definitely have the Advanced Modbus drivers installed in the 2017 Servers right?
It’s possible that the 2017R2=>2017 export functionality has a bug.. but obviously with such an old version it wouldn’t be getting any fix for it at this stage (I don’t recall this tripping me up in that 2017/2017R2 era though).
I had thought Advanced Modbus came in around the 2015 timeframe. You checked to confirm you could create all the individual Advanced Modbus objects in the 2017 database?

@BevanWeiss You know it was late in the day, I guess I was tired enough that I didn't think to do anything you just said. I'll will check those things thanks.
