Design your own dashboard in IT Expert

Administrators and users with Editor and Operator permission can design dashboards in IT Expert and set a default dashboard for the organization to get an instant overview of the most important information. You can create location-specific dashboards and widgets that show graphs for sensors from monitored devices or key values based on a single sensor.    idea_icon_360012327817.png Use quotes to filter lists by exact phrase. For example, "phase 3"   Inactivity timeout   Administrators can set the inactivity timeout to 30 minutes (the default), 2 hours, or 8 hours on the Administration > Organization tab. This setting affects all users in the organization. Note: Allowing more than 30 minutes of inactivity is considered a security risk and is not recommended.   When the browser is set to display the dashboard in full screen mode, the dashboard continuously updates although the user is eventually logged out.   Create a dashboard   Log in to IT Expert.   Click New dashboard in the upper right corner.     Name your dashboard and select a time span. Click Create.     Now you're ready to add widgets to the empty dashboard.   Add widgets to the dashboard   You can add different types of widgets to your dashboard: Graphs; Single value; or one of the default widgets: Map, Alarm count, Latest alarms or Custom text.   Graph   If you want a visual overview of one or more sensors from your monitored devices, add a Graph to your dashboard. This example shows battery time remaining for three different UPSs in a graph.    Click Add widget > Graph.     Name your widget and go to Add series to find the sensors. Choose Single sensors, Calculated sensors, or a Static value. Tip: Click Help in the list to learn more about math functions on ITE dashboards.   ITE_dashboard_add_graph_2_360012327817.png   Select the sensors from the list you want to monitor. Use the search bar above the list or the filters to the left to narrow the selection.   Click Save.   ITE_dashboard_add_graph_3_360012327817.png   Add names for the legend and click Add. Tip: You can choose to hide or show the legend and the x or y axes on the graph.   ITE_dashboard_add_graph_4_360012327817.png Remember to Save the dashboard!   Single value   If you want to see key values based on single sensor values, you can add a Single value to your dashboard. This example shows battery time remaining for three different UPSs as single values.    Click Add widget > Single value.   ITE_dashboard_add_single_value_1_360012327817.png   Name your widget and go to Add value > Sensor to find the sensor.   ITE_dashboard_add_single_value_2_360012327817.png   Select the first sensor you want to monitor and click Save.   ITE_dashboard_add_single_value_3_360012327817.png   Name the legend and click Add.   ITE_dashboard_add_single_value_4_360012327817.png   Repeat step 1 - 4 to add single value widgets for the remaining sensors.   ITE_dashboard_add_single_value_5_360012327817.png Don't forget to Save the dashboard!   Default widgets   You can also add preconfigured ready-to-use widgets to your dashboard. Click Add widget and select from the following:   Graph Single value Map Alarm count Latest alarms Custom text   Set a dashboard as the default for the organization   Administrators and users with Editor permission on All locations can set a dashboard as the default for the organization.   Click Default on the dashboard to select or deselect a dashboard as the default. The dashboard you set as the default displays for all users in your organization when they log in to IT Expert. Otherwise, the Overview dashboard is displayed.   Dashboards you create are shown as tabs in alphabetical order, after the Overview. Click More... to display the entire list.

Math functions on ITE dashboards

When you add a graph widget or single value widget to an ITE dashboard, you can use math functions to add calculations.    idea_icon_360034105233.png  Use quotes to filter lists by exact phrase. For example, "phase 3"   ITE_math_functions_360034105233.png   Sensor Adding a sensor shows the sensor values for the duration you select in a graph widget, or the latest sensor value in a single value widget.   Static value Select static value to show a single value in a widget, or a horizontal line in a graph widget. You can also use a static value in a calculation as a constant.   Math functions You can do calculations using Min, Max, Average and Sum in combination.   Max  Use the max function to show the largest value from a set of sensor data.   Add a single value to show the highest battery temperature IT_Expert_dashboard_-_max_widget_example_360034105233.gif   Click Add widget > Single Value. Name your widget and go to Add value > Max. Select the temperature sensors you want to monitor and click Save. Name the series and click Add. Save the dashboard.   Min Use the min function to show the smallest value from a set of sensor data.   Add a single value to show the lowest battery time remaining.   IT_Expert_dashboard_-_min_widget_example_360034105233.gif   Click Add widget > Single Value.   Name your widget and go to Add value > Min. Select the sensors you want to monitor and click Save. Name the series and click Add. Save the dashboard.   Average Use the average function to show the arithmetic mean of a set of sensor data.   Add a graph widget to show average battery temperature.   IT_Expert_dashboard_-_graph_widget_360034105233.gif   Click Add widget> Graph. Name your widget and go to Add value > Average. Select the sensors you want to monitor and click Save. Name the series and click Add. Save the dashboard.   The resulting graph shows the mean sensor value for a time interval. A time interval is defined by the shortest pull cycle for the selected sensors.   Sum  Use the sum function to add up all the values for each point in time.   Add a single value widget to show PUE Calculate the efficiency of specific locations, rooms, etc.   IT_Expert_dashboard_-_single_value_widget_360034105233.gif   Click Add widget > Single value. Name your widget and go to Add value > Sum. Click Select sensors and search for the sensors representing the total facility power. Click Save. Click Add calculation > Sum for the sum you added in step 3. Use the menu to select Divide. Click Select sensors and search for the sensors representing the IT equipment power. Click Save. Name the value and click Add. Save the dashboard.
