Temperature Readings from I/A Series Micronet LON Controller Displayed in Fahrenheit on I/A Series R2 UNC

Issue

Temperature values from an I/A Series Micronet LON controller appear in Fahrenheit within an I/A Series R2 UNC station, even though the default unit of measure is set to Metric in WorkPlace Tech.

Cause

The LonWorksService in the UNC station converts SNVTs defined as temperature to Fahrenheit when the temperatureUnits property is set to Fahrenheit. This occurs regardless of the Metric setting in WorkPlace Tech.

Resolution

Update the temperatureUnits property in the LonWorksService to Celsius:

1. In the UNC station, right-click LonWorksService and select Properties.
2. Navigate to General > Config tab.
3. Change temperatureUnits to celsius.

   

4. Click Apply.

Note:

• When set to Celsius, no conversion is performed; values are assumed to be in degrees Celsius as per LonTalk protocol.
• If set to Fahrenheit, SNVTs defined as temperature are converted accordingly.
