Issue
Guidance on configuring Sigma UNC 632, UNC 696, or UNC 796 controllers when connecting to a flat Ethernet network.
Product Line
Satchwell BAS & SigmaEnvironment
All Sigma controllers connected to flat ethernet network.
Cause
This article provides general configuration advice for Sigma controllers on non-subnetted networks.
Resolution
A flat Ethernet network is defined as a network without subnets. For example, a network with the address range:
- Network Address:
10.158.0.0 - Subnet Mask:
255.255.0.0 - Usable IP Range:
10.158.0.1to10.158.255.254
On such networks, the Sigma controller requires only the following:
- IP Address
- Subnet Mask
These settings, along with the controller’s Default Server information, should be configured using the Sigma Device Configuration Utility (SDCU)
