Resolution
UNC 696 Controller
- Enclosure: Robust metal case, typically used in standalone installations.
- Module Capacity: Can house two Digital Output Interface modules internally—one on each side.
- Connection Method:
- Modules are connected to the motherboard via ribbon cables.
- These modules are associated with I/O Slot 1:
- Left Module: I/Os 1–8
- Right Module: I/Os 9–16
- Expansion:
- Only Slot 1 supports ribbon cable connections.
- Additional modules must be hard wired.
UNC 796 Controller
- Connection Method:
- Digital Output Interface modules are typically hard wired to controller slots.
- Ribbon cables can be used, but this is uncommon.
