How to Determine the HostId of a Computer in Niagara R2

Issue

Niagara R2 is installed on a computer, but the HostId is unknown. The user needs an alternative method to find the HostId without accessing the license.properties file.

Cause

The HostId is required for licensing or troubleshooting, but the usual method (checking license.properties) is unavailable.

Resolution

1. Open the Niagara Console (found in the Niagara R2 Program Group).
2. Type the following command:

   nre -hostid
   

3. Press Enter. The HostId will be displayed on the screen.

• The nre command can also display other system details.
• Use nre -help to view available options.
