Cause
Items that run on startup can sometimes make the boot up process for a PC very slow. Depending on which applications have been added to start automatically on startup, it can also cause problems if things load in the incorrect order.
Resolution
- Click the Start button in Windows XP
- Select Run
- Type msconfig and click OK.
