Cause
Applications configured to launch at startup may:
- Increase boot time
- Cause system instability or delays
- Load in an incorrect sequence, affecting performance
Resolution
Windows XP, Vista, 7
- Click Start → Run
- Type
msconfig
and press Enter - Go to the Startup tab
- Uncheck items you want to disable
- Click Apply → OK
- Restart your computer
🔹 Windows 8, 8.1, 10, 11
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
- Click the Startup tab
- Right-click any item and choose Disable
- Restart your computer for changes to take effect
💡 Tip: Only disable items you recognize. Disabling essential services may affect system functionality.
