Issue

Configure REX button to be able to permanently lock or unlock a door if pressed for a set amount of seconds.

Security Expert Server

Cause

REX button does a momentary unlock then relatches the door. Would like to unlock or lock doors using the REX as determining factors are too dynamic to use a schedule.

Resolution

What is needed

  • 2 Inputs (A & B)
  • 4 Outputs (A, B, C, D, & E)
  • 4 Programmable Functions (A, B, C, & D)
  • 1 Dummy Area (Test Area)
  • 2 Input Types (Input Triggers Output & Input Toggles Output)
  • 1 Door with REX connected (Door X)

Inputs

    1. Input A (REX Button)
      1. General Tab
        1. Control Output: Output A
      2. Areas and Input Types Tab
        1. Area: Test Area
        2. Input Type: Input Triggers Output
    2. Input B
      1. General Tab
        1. Control Output: Output E
      2. Areas and Input Types tab
        1. Area: Test Area
        2. Input Type: Input Toggles Output

Input Types

    1. Input Triggers Output
      1. Options 1 Tab
        1. Generate Alarms checked
      2. Options 3 Tab
        1. Activate Input Control Output on Alarm checked
        2. Deactivate Input Control Output on Restore checked

    1. Output A, B, C, and E are just standard virtual outputs

        1. Activation Time (seconds): the amount of time you want to hold the REX to activate the unlock/lock (I.E. 5 seconds would require you hold the REX button for 5 seconds)

Programmable functions:

    1. Programmable Function A:
      1. Type: Ripple Output
      2. Output to trigger: Output A
      3. Stage 1: Output B
      4. Stage 2: Output C
      5. Inter Stage on Ripple Time: 5
    2. Programmable Function B:
      1. Type: Logic Control
      2. Logic Function Mode: 7 Follow Logic And
      3. First Output to Check: Output A
      4. Second Output to Check: Output C
      5. Output to Control: Output D
    3. Programmable Function C:
      1. Type: Input follows Output
      2. Input follows Output: Input B
      3. Output to follow: Output D
    4. Programmable Function D:
      1. Type: Door Control
      2. Door Function Mode: 0 Follow and Test Output
      3. Door control Mode: 1 Latch Door unlock
      4. Output to Check: Output E
      5. Door to Control: Door X

Make sure you right-click each programmable function and start them.

Go to the Test Area and set it to Armed.
