Cause
This issue is caused by the Power Management settings of the Network Interface Card (NIC) on the Sigma Server. Specifically, the setting “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” is enabled, which can disable the NIC during periods of inactivity, interrupting alarm routing.
Resolution
To prevent the NIC from being powered down during inactivity, follow these steps:
-
Open Network Connections:
- Navigate to Control Panel → Network Connections.
- Locate the Local Area Connection used by the Sigma Server.
-
Access Network Adapter Settings:
- Right-click the connection and select Properties.
- Under the General tab, locate the “Connect using” section.
- Click the “Configure” button next to the network adapter name.
-
Modify Power Management Settings:
- In the Properties window, go to the Power Management tab.
- Uncheck the box labeled “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.”
- Click OK to apply the changes.
-
Restart the Sigma Server (if necessary) to ensure the new settings take effect.
