Generate a new Data Center Expert license

Once you have redeemed a digital voucher for Data Center Expert credits, you can generate a new Data Center Expert license.

1. In the Digital Vouchers tab of mySchneider Software Management, click Generate New License.
2. Enter the Quantity. This should be the total number of nodes (devices and surveillance cameras) you want to manage across all of your Data Center Expert appliances, to simplify the renewal process and keep license dates consistent.
3. Enter the email address to which you want to send the license details. The recipient will get renewal reminders for the license, and have access to it in mySchneider Software Management.
4. Enter the role of the person to receive the license details.
5. Click Get New License.

This generates the activation ID for your license. Links to download Data Center Expert software and view the user documentation are provided.

 

Add your Data Center Expert device to mySchneider Software Management

Add your Data Center Expert device to mySchneider Software Management:

1. On the Devices tab, click Add New Device.
2. Select Product Name: EcoStruxure IT Data Center Expert
3. Provide a descriptive name for your Data Center Expert device.
4. Select Device Type: Standalone Device.
5. Enter your Device ID.

   To locate your Device ID, open the Data Center Expert 9.0+ desktop client.

   Go to System > Server Administration Settings > License.

   Copy the Server ID and paste it into in the Device ID field in MySchneider Software Management.

6. Click Add New Device.

Your Data Center Expert server will now be shown in the Devices list.

 

Add the license to your Data Center Expert device

Each Data Center Expert device can have only one associated license. In the Devices tab of mySchneider Software Management:

1. Select the Data Center Expert Device that you want to update, and click Add License.
2. Find the available license and update the Quantity to add - this should be the total number of nodes (devices and surveillance cameras) you want to manage across all of your Data Center Expert appliances.
3. Click Add License to complete the association.
4. The licensed device is displayed in the devices list. Click on the Action menu to select Download Offline License File, and save it to the computer on which your Data Center Expert software is installed.

 

Activate your Data Center Expert license

To activate your Data Center Expert license:

1. Open the desktop client of Data Center Expert.
2. Go to System > Server Administration Settings > License
3. Click Update License and select the license file you downloaded earlier.
4. Click OK to successfully update the Data Center Expert License.
