Hello,
We have an usecase to create a realtime alarm, show Pareto of alarm and make a manual categorization of the defect.
We have an automation line with more than 10 000 alarms, we would like subscribe to alarm and event of OPC UA server of PLC Siemens to avoid create manually each alarm
It's possible with AVEVA?

Hi @KhalilBT,
I can speak to the AVEVA Plant SCADA product, as this is my area of expertise and the product forum you have posted this question on.
For Plant SCADA, there are the following OPC interfaces and drivers:
- OPC DA Client Driver
- OPC UA Client Driver
- OPC UA Server (Data Access only - HDA and A&E not implemented in this interface)
- OPC A&E Server (this is just the GeoSCADA backend which includes an A&E interface, it won't have all the alarm meta data available and has quite a few limitations, so I wouldn't recommend using this interface).
You might need to look at using an intermediate piece of software or solution (not sure if Matrikon has a OPC UA A&E client?) and then get that into Plant SCADA using another mechanism.
Let me know if you require any clarification on the points above.
Online documentation for Plant SCADA can be found here: https://docs.aveva.com/bundle/plant-scada/page/1282084.html
Kind regards
Olivier
