Hi All
This morning I had my old PC and monitor still attached to my BE750G-CN device. No clicking.
I then unplugged my pc & monitor and plugged in my NEW PC and NEW Monitor.
The PC is plugged into the Master outlet and the Monitor was in the Controlled by Master outlet. Same as before.
I could not get the monitor to power on. It would try to come on, but then go off. As if it wasn't getting enough power to turn on. So I moved the monitor to one of the surge protected outlets.
OK the monitor now powers on.
But the clicking has begun.
No lights, No beeps, but constant clicking like the unit was taking over for the AC power. Installed PowerChute software on the new PC and fiddled with settings all to no avail.
Something to do with this new PC, which I might add I'm not happy with.
It's a Dell Precision 3420 SFF and it's an HP 25es monitor.
I have now unplugged the PC from the UPS because I cannot stand the clicking. Any help or advice is welcome.
Thanks
Barb

With your new computer and monitor, it is very likely that you need to retrain the energy saver feature. Once you do that, it should work perfectly well once again.
Off the top of my head, I'm not sure how you do this, but the unit's manual should tell you. (It can be downloaded from the APC web site.)

I could be mistaken, but I think the battery backup puts devices plugged into the battery backup on battery power for a few seconds then switches over to AC power if available.
It sounds as though your battery may not have the capacity necessary to go to battery power.
How have you checked the battery and how old is the battery?

For some reason this forum does not allow one to edit their posts....but I wanted to also say that it's possible your new monitor and or PC may require more current than your old ones and the battery may have been able to handle the load for the old devices but not the new devices.
Just a theory however.

Thanks for your replies and sorry I'm getting back to you a few days later.
My hubby suggested that since the clicking began when the new equipment was plugged in, that the new equipment were the cause of the clicking and to DISABLE the Energy Management feature. Once I did that, the clicking stopped.
I still can't plug the monitor into the outlet that the Master Controls, but I can live with turning the monitor off manually.
Again, thanks for your replies.

I agree with you, I guess it is a battery problem.
