Good day Martin,

Do you have the exact model number of your UPS as well as the exact beep pattern that you are hearing? Whenever it beeps, do you see any LED that comes on or off? Does it also affect your load?

Unfortunately, Charging the battery for 24 hours is no assurance that the battery is good.

If the battery is more than 3 years old, I would suspect it is very low on capacity, even though the voltage may appear to be ok.

If you have a multi meter capable of measuring 10Amps of current or more you can test the batteries capacity.

However, before you give up on the battery and replace it, I would test it because it could be a fault with the battery backup unit as well.

I tested the battery with the multimeter and the battery voltage is 11.93V and even when i connect it to the mains and try to measure while the battery is charging, the voltage does not increase. should i conclude that the charging unit has gotten a problem that may be one of the capacitors got damaged.

I have included here the link to the user manual of the UPS. On this manual you will be able to see the status indicators, if you can provide us what kind of indicator your UPS is emitting that will give us more information on what you are experiencing.

You are probably correct.

There are relays on the mainboard that need to be energized for charging to take place.

It sounds as if one of more of those relays are not being activated or has failed.

I have a CyberPower 900Watt Battery Backup that I have taken apart and am diagnosing it for the same problem.   It works but will not charge the batteries.
