I watched the same video and I was appalled that the windings were aluminum with poor connections. I will not be purchasing any APC UPSs in the future. Very shady and I am sure it is Chinese junk. So much for quality products from Schneider Electric.

I'm curious why no response from Schneider on this topic or video. Do they not reply to their own forum here? I own two APC BackUPS PRO's and curious if mine are affected models or revisions. Both have registered warranties. I don't want to be worried about a house fire while not home. I just came across this video as a group expert in a PC Building group is suggesting to others to avoid APC UPS's until this issue is resolved. I've been recommending APC products for quite a while and curious what is going on with this situation for myself and others.

Wow, I just created a post about this very thing. Good to see others have noticed this too. I just got a new APC UPS and this all makes me very nervous.

APC, does this issue still exist in new product?

I have BR1500M2-LM sold in Colombia and now I'm afraid if this issue also is present in my model. Imagine all this fire hazard when you are not in house. And this is a device that has to bring you protection instead of high risk! Really difficult to live with all that fear any moment it can fail in a scary way.
