Does the batteries inside the UPS continue to charge (after UPS has gone into battery mode) even if it is turned off but is connected or plugged into the AC source? Or does charging only happens if the UPS is turned on?
Thanks

I beleive it depends on the type of UPS. Some of them do charge when not powered on, some do not. Any particular model in mind that we can take a look at for you?

As soon as AC power is sufficient the batteries will charge regardless of if it powered off or on.

I'm not aware of any UPS where the charger circuit is downstream of the power switch. For the most part, you can assume as long as its plugged in, it will continue to charge.

Yes. The UPS will charge when powered off when connected to AC source.

Have you tried to adjust the sensitivity of the UPS? See Knowledge base document FA156514 for assistance.
