Hi everyone 🙂
I recently bought an UPS system (model Back UPS pro 900), and after having read the manual, I have a small question :
Do I have to empty the battery 2/3 times as we do with phones or laptops ? Or isn't it necessary ?
Thanks in advance for your answer 🙂
Grégoire M.
PS : sorry if my English seems bad sometimes ^^

Hi, I think the OP is referring to what is recommended to be done with a new lithium ion (LiOn) chemistry battery. The recommendations are to charge then fully discharge the battery up to four times before the battery will achieve its maximum capacity. I am assuming that his UPS has lead-acid (AGM, etc.) batteries and that it is not recommended to charge then fully discharge the batteries at all.

I'm not sure what you mean by empty the battery. If you're asking if you need to discharge the battery to get an accurate runtime, then no you do not. If your runtime is not accurate based on your load, then that may be a test we would recommend. For example, if you're supposed to get 30 mins and you have 8, it may need to be done. If you can provide your load percentage, runtime and full model number, I can help you figure out what you're runtime should be.
