maximum current delivered by one output on Back-UPS ES 700

Hey!

I have the Back-UPS ES 700.

i am going to mount this unit in a enclosure in my system.
It would be convenient to just use one of the battery-back-up outlets and use a separate distribution rail for further connections.
My quiestion is:
Does the UPS deliver maximum power on one outlet or should i connect severeal of the outputs to the distribution rail (parallell connection) ?

Best regards
Hans

With a UPS of that size, it doesn't matter, because you can't exceed the rating of the receptacle itself no matter how you spread the 700VA. Each set (with one set of pass through and one set of battery protected) of outlets are simply connected in parallel, physically.

In practical sense, use power strips, PDUs and extension cords of your choice. The use of any power splitting device in conjunction with the UPS will void the Equipment Protection Plan. So If you absolutely must maintain the APCs Equipment Protection Policy, for the sake of program compliance, get APC brand surge protectors and daisy chain to use as an extension cord if one won't satisfy your length requirements.

To be more precise, the use of any power distribution device together with your APC UPS voids EPP, unless that device has the APC logo.

Hello,

We would recommend spreading your load across the output outlets directly on the UPS. With all the output going through one outlet, you may lose some current through power dissipation. There is also the fact that using a third party power distribution unit, could void the Equipment Protection Policy.

Thanks.
