I have an APC BE750G (APC BACK-UPS 750VA) s/n 3B1008X38979. My PC, a Rotel Receiver, my monitors, and a fan are kept plugged into it.
This morning Progress Energy cut the power locally for some sort of maintenance issue. I was on my computer at the time and did a controlled shut down.
Upon restoration of power, everything in my house worked but the items plugged into the APC unit. I have just replaced the power supply to my computer and am using a borrowed monitor. My Rotel Receiver will either power up to a state of inactivity and then shut down or will simply not respond to the power switch at all, and the fan will not work.
First, how do I file for the protection that is promised on the carton the device came in, and secondly, what in the world happened? Clearly, I would have been better off without having anything plugged into this device.
Obviously, I am not at all pleased that I have spent my day dealing with this issue.
