choosing a UPS for my place

I am planning to buy an UPS for my house. I need help regarding choosing an UPS... how do I look for one???

Hi Narasimha,

We can certainly help you find the right UPS for your specific needs. Perhaps you can tell us about what you're looking for in this new UPS.

Usually, we would want to start this discussion with a few basic questions:

1) What is going to be backed up by this UPS? (computer, TV, home networking, etc etc. the more detail, the better)

2) What is the approximate combined power draw of this equipment in watts or volt-amperes? (You can often find a device's power consumption on a sticker near where the power plug attaches to the device. They will either list a rating in watts, which is great, or they may list the device's operating voltage and maximum current draw in amps. This would be something listed like 12v 1.5Amp or similar.)

3) How much runtime would you need when there's a power outage? (do you just need a few minutes to let you turn off or shut down your equipment, or do you need to work as long as possible without interruption?)
