back-ups 675 constant tone and yellow light when gaming pc is playing intensive games plugged into battery+surge slot only

I inherited a Back-UPS 675 from my dad who passed recently, he seems to have bought this UPS back in 2020.  I had it shipped cross country to me from a friend and I forgot to tell him to disconnect the battery inside but everything seems to be working fine despite this.

The problem I have is when I plug in my gaming PC (850W Corsair PSU running a 3070 Ti and Ryzen 7 5800X CPU) it is okay in the Surge only slot, but when I plug it into the Battery+Surge slot and then run games, during some specific gaming scenes the UPS will turn on a loud constant beeping tone and the green led power button will change to an amber/yellow led color.  It will be constant until I leave the game scene (sometimes a menu, sometimes a 3d area, depends on the game), at which point it returns to green and the tone stops.

So at this point I can only plug my PC into the Surge only outlet when using my PC, but I know my dad's PC had a 2070 Super GPU and a Ryzen 3800X CPU and mine doesn't draw that much higher of power.  I know he used his PC in the battery+surge slot in case of black outs down in Puerto Rico so I am curious why his PC didn't have this issue with this UPS but mine does.

Am I doing something wrong?  I have tried the 3 different power fluctuation level settings in the instructions I found online, green, amber, or red, but it does the same thing with all 3 settings.  Is there anything that can be done or is my PC just too power hungry for this Back-UPS 675, or is the battery too old?  Any ideas could be helpful.  It does have a USB Data outlet on the back but I don't have that cable so it is not plugged in.

As a side note I have looked at this web page https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA158810/ but the difference is when I get this constant tone the led is not flashing, it is a constant yellow/amber color.

Thanks

as I read, this UPS delivers max 360W - so its too weak for your PC - especially if you demand higher power playing games 😉

What model would you recommend that would work for a 3070 Ti and 5800X CPU with a 850W Corsair 80 Plus Gold PSU?

Since my dad had a 2070 Super plus a 3800X CPU, I assume it must still work for his so I could plug my PC into the Surge only port and then plug his into the Battery+Surge port (if I can find the space to set up both PC's in this room).

And is there an easy way to get a replacement battery when it inevitably dies?  I think it has been around 2 years since he bought it so I have a feeling it will need one at some point.

Luckily here we don't have many surge events or rolling blackouts so I have never needed a UPS in the past, but they are good insurance "in case".  Though I guess if a normal surge protecting power bar (can't say the other word) is good enough too I have been using several of those.

Hi @casedistorted,

Thank you for reaching out to the SE Community, my name is Jon and I will assist you with this query.  Apologies for the issue that you are having, I agree with @RMZahn that your UPS is somehow exhibiting an overload condition.

If you can, I suggest that you reach out to our team that handles your country for proper guidance in finding an authorized UPS and battery reseller.
