apc pro 1000 back ups power switches from a/c to battery for no reason

i have the apc pro 1000, and i only have it hooked up to my satalite and tv it will run fine on a/c but sometimes it will switch to battery for no reason and run on that a little while before it switches back to a/c what causes that and how can i fix it

Can you confirm which variety of Back UPS Pro 1000 this is? Like BR1000G with an LCD display? You can confirm by verifying the white sticker on the back (or bottom) of it.

My first thought is sometimes, there are power fluctuations that are not so obvious to us but the UPS sees them, like distortion or similar. We should try changing the sensitivity on the UPS to see if it improves and depending on the model, the steps to adjust the sensitivity will be a little different. I can provide them when I know the UPS model if you need it.

It's hard to say. There are situations where to the user, it may look like input power is good but it is not to the UPS. Thus, changing the sensitivity changes how sensitive the UPS is to incoming power. If it is really bad (but is not a complete loss of power), it'd go to battery.

Another option is to sift through the LCD screen and see if anything is obvious - for instance, is the UPS seeing too high or too low of a voltage or frequency? Alternatively, the PowerChute software may shed some light on why the UPS is going to battery. It may be a problem, like where the UPS doesn't see any voltage when it is there, but it will at least tell you what the UPS thinks is wrong and we'd go from there.
