Back-UPS ES550 Red Blinking Light and Shuts Down

This was originally posted on APC forums on 5/30/2014

My computer is plugged up to this backup and there is a red blinking light. It periodically shuts off, which also shuts off my computer, and starts beeping constantly. The battery is not dead because I got it checked out.  Any advice?
