XS 900, ES 500, ES 725 battery life

We have a small (5 station) network. We had used APC backups before so I bought models ES 500 and ES 725 for two of our workstations and XS 900 for our server. All appear to have failed within a year. Plugged in and turned on, we get a continuous beep. The 900 continues to beep even after it is removed from the wall power and no lights appear on the unit.

It concerns me that these units have lasted so little time. I see posts on this forum that indicate 5 to 8 years life is reasonable. Are they worth replacing? Is there a possibility that the batteries are still under warranty? If so, where and how can they be replaced?

The symptoms you described do not sound like battery failure. Please contact the APC Customer Care Center at 1-800-800-4272/www.apc.com/support to troubleshoot these units. The Back UPS and Battery should be under factor warranty if it was purchased within last three years.
