I've just had one of these with a dead battery pack, 0 volts on the output, opened the battery pack up and one of the batteries was leaking. So, I swapped the battery pack from a known good unit, measured 123V output.
As soon as I connected it to the unit there was a huge pop from inside and smoke!! On closer inspection it looks like one of the IGBT transistors had blown apart.
My question is, are these boards replaceable? or do I have to now scrap the unit?
Darren

APC does not offer replacement parts for these specific models of UPS. The unit can be sent to any electronics repair facility for repair if required. If you’re a DIY and have the equipment and skills you can try to replace the failed component(s) to see if it comes back to life.
Depending upon the production year, usage, and environmental conditions this unit operated in. All of the capacitors should be replaced along with relays.
All power transistors, MOSFETS, should be tested and measured. There are several fuses on the board so validate none have blown open during the release of magic smoke!
In addition there are several large resistors where the values must be measured to insure correct tolerance.
If this is for an enterprise company the unit would be sent into an authorized APC Repair facility like Coastec in North America:

If your company follows strict regulations and ISO standards than the unit would simply be decommissioned and scrapped.
