UTS6H can you set power priority?

I am looking to buy one of these but I have a few questions that I was hoping someone with experience using these can help me with.  FYI this is for an in house small solar bank.  I am looking to use this with to supply part of the house not just for back up power.

1. I read that the power sources can be selected, but can I set priority of the power usage so the traditional "backup" power sources are used first, and then have the grid power as the secondary selection?

2. What is involved with hard wiring this?  Is it wired to the main breaker box and it get's it's own 20A fuse?

3.  The 6 vs the 10, do they have any significant differences besides the amount of circuits they can handle?

The Priority of which electrical source is to be used first is not adjustable between Back-UP Source 1 and Back-UP Source 2. The unit allows the user to change the source name for each Back-UP source, however Back-UP Source 1 will always be through the hardwired connections and Back-UP Source 2 will always be through the UPS inlet. Beyond that, each UTS circuit can be selected to use a varying combination of electrical sources i.e. Generator, UPS, Either, None, Uninterruptible.

When wiring the UTS, each UTS circuit will be placed inline between the load and the load's corresponding circuit breaker in the main electrical panel. Each UTS circuit has an Input Wire and Output wire, both of which will be connected inside the Main electrical panel to it's corresponding electrical breaker / load wiring.

There are several versions of the UTS6, however only 1 UTS10BI;

●6-circuit, 120V only (UTS6)

●6 circuits for customers with 120V loads only 

●20A (or smaller) generators

●L14-20P Inlet

●6-circuit, 120V only (UTS6H)

●6 circuits for Honda customers with 120V loads only 

●20A (or smaller) generators

●L5-30P Inlet

●6-circuit, 120V/240V (UTS6BI)

●4 circuits for 120V loads & 1 circuit for 240V loads

●20A (or smaller) generators

●L14-20P Inlet

●10-circuit, 120V/240V: (UTS10BI)

●8 circuits for 120V loads & 1 circuit for 240V loads

●30A generators

●Hardwire Input Only

FYI; All UTS units except the UTS6H require a 240vac source to function.

A very small point, but the UTS6H I think is for 30A or smaller generators single phase.  The others are 240v two-phase accepting twice the equivalent amperage, yes?  So if his solar puts out 120v he might use the 6H as Backup1.

To frame the OPs question differently, if there is still utility power across circuit 5 and 6, (or 9 and 10) and you turn off the breaker for one of the other four (eight) circuits, will that circuit trip over to Backup1 if his solar array is wired into Backup1?  If so, then he could feed one or more of the four circuits with solar power, and flip the breaker back on to go to utility source.

Thank you for the in depth reply.  It is unfortunate that I cannot select the primary energy source   This would have been the perfect solution.  Grid Backup and no need to worry for those rainy days in december...
