I have UPS XS 1300 LCD. When my laser printer runs, the UPS completely shuts down, and the computers shut down immediately. The laser printer is plugged into surge protector outlets, not back-up outlets. I am using powerchute serial shutdown. Battery is 100% with 209 minutes. UPS load is 2%. I can't use this printer without major issues.
This was not always the case, historically the computer would go on backup for seconds when the printer started and then everything would be normal.

It was plugged into UPS SPD port as there was no other convenient outlet. I assumed that was a different circuit within the UPS. Anyway, I took your hint, and ran a heavy duty extension cord to another outlet (still on the same wiring circuti) fro the laser printer , and it seems to be working now. thanks for you help.

When was this UPS purchased and the serial number? Have you ever replaced the battery cartridge? What does the Power Chute event & data logs show?
Why would you plug a laser printer into a UPS vs a stand alone SPD ?!?

That's great to hear and you're right one would think the two outlets would be completely separate! 😖 Appreciate the quick follow up and the final outcome.
Rock On . . . 👍
