I would like to use battery backup & surge protection for a Tivo unit.
What are my options please?
Thank you.

is that all you want to connect to a UPS? No TV, DVD player, etc? I have one and it doesnt seem to draw much power. depending on how much runtime you'd want for the tivo only, you could maybe look at a BE350G.

I need some more info. I noticed a discussion on this forum (which i cannot find) concerning Sine wave power (or something like this)supplies in relation to AV equipment. So, apparently, there are different types of units and one may or may not be suitable for my application.

There are UPS units that output a pure sine wave while operating on battery and those that output a simulated sinewave while on battery. Every once in a while you will run into a device whose power supply does not operate on the simulated sine wave. Also, AV enthusiasts will usually tell you that, because a pure sine wave is "less dirty", it will give you better quality picture or audio from your AV equipment. Anything that outputs a pure sine wave while on battery is going to be more expensive.
Personally, I have a Tivo Premiere, TV, and DVD player connected to a Back-UPS (which outputs a simulated sine wave) and it operates fine when the UPS goes to battery. I see no issues with picture or audio while the UPS is on battery.
