Hello, our company bought two GreenCell YDC9103S-RT 1KVA-3KVA UPS towers. We did not realize, that using their official software GC UPS, you cannot monitor two UPS'es at the same time, which is crucial for us, because we need a code execution after mains failure on both of them. So I, an intern, was sent to figure it out, and its not going well. The software indeed cannot see both of them at the same time, only the first one that is plugged in, and when mains fails on the other one, it doesn't react. Tried setting up WinNUT, didn't work either, but i could be wrong somewhere. My way out, or so i thought, was to scan the output pin of the RS232 port, (for context, only communication on this UPS is usb and rs232), detect changes when mains fail, and go from there. However, i dont know if their communication protocol is secret, no matter what i tried, i cannot get any data output out of the UPS no matter what i tried. I tried 3 different terminal apps, set up the COM ports in all combinations that could be, and no success. The port does open, it connects to the pc, but i cant get any data through. If i am correct, it is using the Megatec protocol, which would mean sending standard Megatec protocol commands through serial might activate it, but it has not worked. Was thinking if anyone could help me out here, any hints would help, with serial communication, or maybe you have another fix with software.
Cheers,
Kostas

I donât understand why youâre asking this very specific question in the APC Forum?!? đ¤Śââď¸
Why would you buy something that is mission critical with no standardized industry support??
You could have bought anything from APC, Eaton, Tripp Lite, CyberPower, Vertiv which is sold worldwide! âď¸
All of them provide documentation regarding integration of SNMP, MIBS, network connectivity, local / network software.
Have you engaged the maker of this UPS regarding their software & integration?!?

What does the manufacturer offer in terms of documentation / API for this device? Provide a resource link for review here. Have you used a packet sniffer like wire shark or similar to see what if any replies are seen by device / your computer?
What does a google search show for this device as it relates to your specific question? Is anyone familiar or playing with this hardware like APCUPSD, NUT, etc?
You may have better results asking this in a more general forum like Reddit. đ
