I have a customer that has a UPS powering his telephone PBX. Apparently, whenever they have a power outage and the power turns back on, the power surge is so high that it gets past the UPS and fries a power unit in his phone system. I am considering purchasing a P11VT3 or a Line-R 1200 and putting that into the wall and then plugging ONLY his UPS into this new device. I know that APC says that it isn't a good idea to do this, but is it ok (and beneficial) to do it if you only have one UPS plugged into a surge protector and nothing else?
Thanks in advance for your help!
