Does the "Tel in" on the BR900GI actually support bonded VDSL (4 wires)? When connecting my modem cable to the Tel-In and then another extension cable to the modem for surge-protection, the Zyxel modem only syncs with one channel and does not seem to establish a bonded connection. This is not the case if I not using the APC.
To me it seems that this is either a fault on the UPS (not all wires connected/passed through) or that the UPS reduces the signal as part of the surge-protection so much that the modem can not establish a signal.
Does the UPS actually support VDSL? To me it does not appear so.

I have now ordered an external protector. I think the APC is just not capable of dealing with bonded DSL. I will feed the WAN Link from the modem into the Gigabit port of the UPC, so at least equipment behind the modem is protected.

Thanks the problem is similar, but not the same. In my case I connect: Phone Line > UPS Tel In (RJ11) > UPS Tel Out (RJ11) > Modem. When doing this, the Modem syncs only one ADSL channel (it is a bonded solution and requires all four wires). The only thing I could possibly try and connect via the LAN ports.

It does sound like only Line 1 is being passed through the Phone Protection system on the UPS.
Do your phones also run on the same Line 1 or Line 2 and you have DSL filters on the phones?
It is not a good idea to try the LAN Network Protection on the UPS for phone line protection. If you also have phone voltages on the lines used for your VDSL.
Phones have around 48VDC on the phone lines when not in use and about 90VAC 20Hz voltage during ringing. It is a very good chance the network surge components will effect how the phones work. Possibly looking like the phone is in use all the time or when ringing it tells the phone system you picked up the phone,
May also damage the network protection components. As they maybe picked to protect typical voltages seen on a LAN Network connection and not phone signal voltages.
I am using an APC PTEL2 on my system. As my model UPS has no phone line protection. I am not bonded DSL but the APC literature shows two lines {Line 1 and Line 2} being protected. You may have to go to an external protector if your USP's phone protection only does Line 1 and not Line 1 and Line 2 you need for bonded DSL.
