I have TWO Smart-UPS 1500C units. One started going haywire (sometimes now showing load %, not communicating with the battery etc). So APC sent me another unit. This 'new' unit is clearly a refurb, and now I get someone elses problem.
That being the unit drawing power even when the battery is full.
The second unit (the one I bought new) draws 0.0 amps when it is full on battery and no load running through it - as you would assume. Even both new units combined would be 0.0 amps when full (and no load obviously).
Now, this refurb unit is drawing anywhere from .4 to .8 amps even when battery is full and nothing plugged into it.
I upgraded firmware - did a 'brain dead' battery disconnect for an hour - still having the problem. I even left the unit for 24 hours plugged in just to see if this would go away. It isn't.
Even tried a different battery.
Don't really know what else to do here.. Don't want 100 Watts continuously being used by this unit for now reason..... talk about a $$$ waster.

APC Tech support realized this was a problem as well and is replacing the unit.
