Serial connected SmartUPS1000 with Win 7

I am trying to use a SmartUPS1000 on a Win7 64bit machine, the UPS only has a serial connector that works with a 0024c cable. This worked fine with XP pro but now I have changed to Win 7 Pro.

What software should I download in order to use this UPS, and is the 0024C cable the thing to use?

I tried downloading the personal version of PowerChute but it seems to want to only look at a USB connector. it say's USB cable not detected.

I tried using a common USB/Serial converter cable but the UPS trips every time I connect it.

I also tried to use a standard serial cable, but this trip s the UPS as well.

Any one any idea's?

Hi,

You need to install PowerChute Business Edition part number SFPBCE911 Software / Firmware

The other option you have is to install APCUPSD and configure that application for Serial Comm.
