SMT3000RM2UNC UPS supply line specs not listed on Product Data Sheet
We are installing a SMT3000RM2UNC and the data sheet does not specify the supply line requirement. It does specify the 30A twist lock plug but does it really need a 30A circuit or is it just wired with the 30A twist lock for the fun of it?
To provide 2700 watts RMS requires a 30 amp breaker, cord set, and plug! It’s not there for (Fun) it’s there because it’s required to meet and sustain that level of current draw (IF) and when required.
If your power requirements are less than that you would have purchased a smaller unit ranging from 1500 ~ 2200 VA.
One would assume a proper load calculation was done prior to making the purchase?!? Or the unit was specified with the intent of having much higher loads in the near term / long term.
At the end of the day you / the business will need to have the correct 30 amp breaker, wire, and twist lock outlet installed per NEC / CEC.
It’s the law, electrical code, it’s not for fun or open for debate!
