Hi all,
Can you please tell me is there a possibility to rest the ups password using the RS232 connexion?
This UPS (SURT5000) doesn't have a SNMP card.
Thx for your response.

this is confusing because we are not aware of a username and password on the UPS itself, only accessory cards or software that goes along with it.
can you please post a screenshot or capture text from your hyperterminal session so we can better understand what you're looking at?
thanks.

where is this username and password prompt coming from? a web page? please let us know how you are getting to the username and password prompt to help clear this up.
also, can you find out from the little white sticker on the unit whether this is a SURT*D*5000 or SURT5000?

Hi all,
Yes there is no accessory card.
I used the hyper terminal (via RS232) to get measurements.
It s a SURT5000.
I don't know if there is a admin count that we can use to rest the password?
Thx

ok, that is indeed an APC accessory card, either the AP9617, AP9618, or AP9619. you are accessing its local console connection.
[here are is the password reset procedure|http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=7879]. you will want to refer to the network management card 1 instructions.
