Requesting Clarification on BX1000M Battery Replacement

Hello,

I am going on about 3 years with my BX1000M APC Back-UPS product. I was planning to replace the battery, and found the manual and the website in agreement that it should be the RBC158 product linked here .

However, in looking at the dimensions, it shows that it should be 8x6x3 in inches, and a net weight of 12.3 lb. And the page does indicate that it is the physical dimension and not the package dimension (which is larger).

This didn't seem right (it wouldn't even fit into this product), and so I took out the old battery and measured it, and sure enough, it measures exactly the same as the RB17 battery which I have purchased before (for my BR700G product). I've attached the photos of the battery and the dimensions. It matches the RBC17 dimensions and weight of 5.9x3.7.x2.6 and around 6 lb.

It just seems weird that the documentation and website is pointing me to one that is much larger than this one. And also strange that the BX1000M has the same size battery as the BR700G. Would love some clarification on if I somehow have a unit that uses the smaller battery or if the website and manual is incorrect? Or if the RBC158 and RBC17 is actually the same battery (they are $20 different in price, though).

Thank you!

Both are 9AH cells so it doesn’t matter which one you choose. So long as it comes with the same quantity and configuration.

The user manual indicates the BX1000M takes two of these cells. Does the BR750G take the same quantity of cells?!? 🤔

You bought this unit brand new and the physical battery compartment only fits a single battery cell?!?
