I'm begging you.
PLEASE do NOT put an icon for PCSS on the desktop!
Clients are confused because they try to launch the application and have no idea about credentials.
Some think it is spyware and go to uninstall via Control Panel.
What made you think this was a good idea in the first place?
ALL previous versions of PowerChute Personal desktop remained in the system tray, hidden from most end-user view.
Now, all of a sudden, you put an icon for a web-browser-based product on their desktops?!?!
RFE: in the next update, PLEASE remove the desktop icon!

I have entered a change request to allow users to accept or disallow the desktop shortcut.
Note: with PCSS 1.2 you can install the software for a Back-UPS and not enter credentials. This would allow the users to click on the shortcut and launch the UI without enter credentials. Also, PCSS 1.2 out a shortcut in the systray.
