I would like to replace the RBC32 batteries in this unit with RBC33 batteries:
Back-UPS NS 1250
Model: BN1250
Serial: JB0614012676
The batteries are the same size and have the same connectors, but different Ah ratings (RBC33 is higher, at 9Ah, vs. RBC32 at 7Ah or 7.5Ah).
Is it safe to do so?
Are these two batteries interchangeable?
Thank you,
Bart

Hi Bart,
You are not likely to get any recommendations from Schneider employees to go ahead and swap the batteries. IMHO, if they are indeed form, fit and functional equivalents then it would probably be safe to do so. I browsed to a UPS battery replacement website and they specified the 7.5Ah battery for both the RBC32 and the RBC33 so they are, indeed, form and fit compatible. Another site specified a 9Ah as you mentioned. Assuming the chemistry of the batteries are the same, the batteries would work.
Finally, if you are still in warranty with the UPS, I wouldn't swap them out. Out of warranty, not a problem. The additional battery capacity may buy you additional runtime but probably not too much. Good luck!
