I have some question. I am installing a UTS10BI
1- What powers the UTS panel?
UPS?
2 - With no power to the UTS does it default to bypass?
a- Do the utility relays power down to closed?
b- Will the house loads still get power?
3 - Which kits do I need for the generator?
a- Power cable and plug?
b- Remote start kit?
4 - Is there a more detailed schematic?
Is there a block diagram for the UTS?
5 - With no UPS connected to the Panel will the Panel still have power from circuit 1?
6 - What is the largest UPS that can be connected to the UTS?
7 - What is the watt load of the UTS?

Hi again,
I asked our UTS expert here and as far as the Molex connector question - f the connector fits in place tightly and the connected wires are not coming in contact with the PCB, shouldn't be an issue.
But, the question regarding the Honda remote control box - we cant really speak to that officially. APC doesn't support the Auto Start function, therefore we've never tested as to whether or not his configuration is viable. We wouldn't want to tell you yes, it should be OK, and then there is an unforeseen problem. If you do proceed in trying, please be careful but note it would be at your own risk.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

The schematics of UTS10BI on page 15, or the back of the panel, of the Site Preparation manual does not show the UTS computer system or that it gets its power from circuits 9 and 10.
I was not planing to use the 240VAC circuits.
What powers the UTS when utility power is lost and the generator has not started?
So, when the UTS has no power the relay are all open?
Thank you for your time.

We don't have any hard numbers available but it should be negligible. Something like this, I'd make an educated guess at something like 30-50watts for the relays and LCD.

If you use a UPS, it can power the UTS or else with no generator and no utility, the UTS will remain off. The relays will be closed.

So, the UPS provides power to the UTS computer and relays when changing from utility to generator?
If the generator fails to start, the UPS will run down and UTS will lose power? When the utilities comes back on, circuits 9 and 10 will then power up the UTS? Circuit 1 will then provide power to charge up the UPS? Is this correct?

Yes - the UPS would power the UTS when utility is lost and generator is starting up. As mentioned, if you don't have a UPS, the UTS will remain off until generator power is available. This answers your second question I think. And you are correct on your remaining questions.

I have a Molex 39533-2006 plug that is of the same family. Is this ok to use inplace of the Molex 39530-0006 for the remote control on the UTS 10Bi. The 39533 is comes out the side where the 39530 come out of the top of the plug.
Also, Is it ok to wire the Honda remote control box switches in parallel with the remote relayes in the UTS?
I all ready have this cable and would be a waste to just cut off the box. This way I can keep the remote light and use the remote control box as a manual overide. I see no problem has the switches are normal open as the relays. The outputs of the relays seem to be connected only to the cable.
Thank you for your time.
