APC Powerchute

Hi everyone,

I have need some advice regarding the above matter.

Let's say for example, I have 4 servers running and connected to a one (1) APC Smart-UPS XL 3000VA 220VAC. If there will be a power interruption, can the Powerchute software installed on one of the 4 servers can gracefully shutdown the three remaining (3) servers simultaneously even if 1 serial connection is only connected to and from the first server and to the UPS?

If not, what would be the best solution or design to provide the said 4 servers a graceful shutdown in case of power interruption?

I got it.. AP9617 network management card (software included) can handle graceful shutdown of servers >3 and above.

Our recommendation is to get our Network Management Card, and use the PowerChute Network Shutdown Software. This will eliminate serial connectivity and allow your servers and the UPS to connect via the network.
