All,
As I stated in the other thread pertaining to Omnipass and Vista support, I am offering some assistance in what is currently not a fully-supported-by-APC realm for Omnipass 5.0.
If you are experiencing any problems, feel free to post them here.
Please provide your system specs, large software packages that are installed (Firefox, IE7, Anti-Virus, etc.), and if possible, screenshots of what's occuring._

since Softex makes omnipass, you may want to check with them.
but i looked for myself, [at this link|http://www.softexinc.com/data/userguide/OmniPass%20Client%20Edition%20Users%20Guide.pdf] and even Omnipass 6.0 only says IE6 or IE7 or Firefox 3 😞

I have a Medion Akoya S5610 laptop which came with OmniPass pre-installed. I have found OmniPass invaluable for easy logging on to password protected websites.
Yesterday, however, a strange problem arose. Every time I open Windows Mail or IE8 - the OmniPass authentication window pops up and requests a fingerprint swipe. If I try and reply to an e-mail or a Newsgroup posting - up pops the authentication window. The interesting thing is that if I just close the authentication window down (by clicking the X in top right of window) - then I can still open Windows Mail or IE8, and still respond to e-mails and NG postings. In other words - although OmniPass is requesting authentication, I am not prevented from doing what I want to do even if I don't authenticate.
I have not made any changes to OmniPass in recent days and so cannot understand why this is happening. I have tried a system restore - with no positive result for this problem.
I have gone into OmniPass settings but cannot find anything that would enable me to 'turn off' these unwanted and unnecessary authentication window pop ups.
My laptop has Vista Home Premium and I am using Windows Mail version 6 and IE8.
Help and advice would be gratefully received!

I am on XP Pro with Omnipass 5.01.13. Everything was working properly until installing IE8. No prompts for any password screens come up. Any ideas?
