I have an RS1500 that goes into battery mode even when connected to main power. I swapped out the battery with from another (working) RS1500 but it exhibits the same behavior. It does momentarily try to switch back to main power after a minute or two but it clicks back to battery right away. I checked the front panel settings and they appear correct. (setting #2, sorry, i forget what it means)
any advice? am i in the market for a new unit or can this one be fixed?

I have an RS1500 that goes into battery mode even when connected to main power. The unit had been setting for about a year, pluged it in and nothing the unit wouldn't turn on at all. Thinking it was the batteries that had gone bad, I bought a fresh set. The moment I connected the new batteries to the unit the fans started to run thinking the unit was on charge. I ran a self test on the unit every thing seem to be normal, so I let it run for about 24 hrs and when I came back the unit was off and the batteries were dead, any ideas on this issue? Ps The unit has nothing plugged into it and is not connected to the PC.

Good day Matt,
It appears to be that your UPS is seeing dirty power/frequency on your input source. Let us start by lowering the sensitivity setting either by using PowerChute Personal Edition or manually. It would be easier by using the software, if it is not possible for you to set it up can you provide the exact model number of your UPS it would help me check the proper steps on doing it manually.
