I am having this minor issue with a back ups model BN4001. On occasion it will begin to make a continuous beep and flash between replace battery and on light. According to the manual this means either the battery needs to be charged or replaced or is disconnected. Once I turn the ups off to stop the beep and turn it back on again, the beep and flashing lights are gone. I don't know what causes this. I thought it might be a faulty battery connection so I disconnected the battery and reconnected it and he problem persists. I'm sure that the battery is charged as it is constantly connected to power. If the battery needs replacing then I don't know why the visual and audio signals stop once I turn off the ups and turn it on again. Thank you in advance 🙂

Hi Jimmy,
I think what your finding here is that the battery voltage is dropping below the point of detection from the UPS. This can be due to battery age or premature failure. Domestically APC has a three year warranty based on the serial number or from the date of purchase (POP is required). I would recommend contacting an APC call center for continued support.
